Cllr David Renard
I have had the privilege of being a ward councillor for Haydon Wick since 2002 and engage with residents regularly through door knocking, leafleting, advice surgeries, email and telephone, columns in various publications, attending or organising events and meetings and, of course, social media. I was elected Leader of Swindon Borough Council in April 2013 having served as Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Children’s Services previously. I have been a Cabinet Member since 2004 covering portfolios including Children’s Services, Housing, Adult Social Care and Integration with Health services.
I have been a Board Member of the Social Enterprise, SEQOL and has also held a range of other appointments over the years, and been responsible for delivering a huge range of projects and service improvements. I have worked in various industries including travel and tourism, training and buying. I have chaired two charities and Swindon Conservative Association and have been a governor at two schools including 13 years at Haydonleigh Primary School.
I live in Abbey Meads with my partner.
Cllr Garry Perkins
I have served in many different roles in Swindon Borough Council and held a number of Cabinet positions over the years with 30 years of experience as a Councillor. As a local businessman I have the hands on experience to deliver value for money for hard pressed tax-payers and be a strong voice for the local community.
I have been key to the Regent Circus town centre regeneration, significant expansion and improvements to our local schools and securing additional funding for improving roads and potholes.
I am passionate about making a difference in Haydon Wick.
Cllr Oliver Donachie
I love Haydon Wick and I love Swindon, the town I was born and grew up in. I continue to raise my family here, run my business here, and school my children in Haydon Wick.
I use the same roads, shops, and local facilities as you every day and I want them to be the best that we as a community can make them.
Since being elected in 2013, I have been fully focused on delivering a number of projects that I promised to achieve. These include a number of large projects such as the £1m investment in resurfacing of the Morrisons chicane and reworking of Akers Way, but they also include more personal work with residents to resolve issues in their streets.
Over the years I have filed endless requests for works in the area and have been overwhelmingly successful in achieving the changes residents have asked for. I continue to be busy on all the issues I know people find important. My intention, if re-elected, will be to serve my residents with the same level of passion and commitment as I have since first being elected.
I want to live in a neighbourhood we can all be proud of.
