05/03/09 - Justin Tomlinson and Gerald Howarth Praise Booming Swindon Defence Firm

A Swindon company which makes vital equipment for the British army has been praised by Justin Tomlinson, North Swindon parliamentary candidate, and Shadow Defence Minister Gerald Howarth, during a visit today.

AML UK is bucking the trend of Labour's recession and taking on extra staff at its Dorcan headquarters.

Gerald Howarth said, "Protection in combat zones is extremely important.  Here in Swindon is a company that is absolutely critical in that process, delivering key protection for our soldiers sailors and air crew".

Justin Tomlinson said, "I am delighted to be supporting such a successful local business which is offering opportunities to those in Swindon who are having difficulty finding work".

Commenting generally on Swindon, Mr Howarth added, "Justin Tomlinson, as a local councillor, is very well placed to represent the people of Swindon as part of what we hope will be an incoming Conservative government".
