Robert Buckland, parliamentary candidate for South Swindon, has said the Conservative party will seriously consider proposals put forward by one of Swindon's biggest employers to help the haulage industry.
On Friday, Shadow Transport Secretary Theresa Villiers joined Robert on a visit to MAN at Blagrove, manufacturers of vehicles and engines for hauliers. They are pictured above, with MAN CEO Des Evans (centre).
Robert Buckland says, "MAN put forward some extremely interesting proposals for how a future Conservative Government could help the haulage industry.
"The company made it clear that many smaller businesses who they supply are having a tough time during the recession.
"They made a very-well argued case for policies which could alleviate the problem, reduce costs, and at the same time help the environment.
"I know that Theresa Villiers has gone back to London and will seriously consider these ideas at Shadow Cabinet level.
"I am delighted that MAN invited us. If elected as the MP for South Swindon, I look forward to a very fruitful relationship with the company, which is in the top ten of Swindon's employers".
