25/02/09 - Senior Tory To Visit Swindon To Discuss Help For Haulage Industry

A senior member of the shadow cabinet is visiting Swindon to discuss how a future Conservative government could provide vital help for the haulage industry.
Theresa Villiers MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, will be meeting senior managers from MAN Truck and Bus UK Ltd, one of the countrys leading suppliers of commercial vehicles.
Conservative parliamentary candidate for South Swindon, Robert Buckland, will also be attending the meeting at MANs headquarters in Blagrove this Friday.
Robert Buckland said, I am delighted that Theresa Villiers is visiting Swindon and particularly MAN, which is such an important part of Britains haulage industry and a vital employer in Swindon.
A future Conservative government will do everything we can to help the haulage industry, and make sure we safeguard jobs, services and the environment.
This visit to Swindon, coming after recent trips by George Osborne and Philip Hammond, shows once again that the Conservatives are serious about helping Swindon out of the recession.
