The next meeting of the Swindon Special Educational Needs Network will be on Tuesday 18th September. Here is a letter from South Swindon Candidate Robert Buckland that was published in the Adver on Saturday:
RACHAEL Reid's letter (SA, August 8) makes for very encouraging reading indeed.
The way to ensure that the needs of children with varying disabilities are met by the council and the Government is to encourage the development of a network of people with the knowledge and determination to seek change.
This is why I helped to set up the Swindon Special Educational Needs Network last year, which brings together parents, teachers and others with an interest in the issue so that information can be exchanged and support given.
As well as our usual group sessions, we will be joined by Emma Turner, a solicitor specialising in education law, who will talk about the legal framework of SEN. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please contact me on 07885 304713 or on robbuckl@globalnet.co.uk for further details.
