Gordon Brown is part of the past not the future, so he cannot be the change the country wants. For the last ten years hes been sitting at Tony Blairs right hand, raising stealth taxes and signing the cheques for Labours failed policies. So if people want change, theyll have to vote for it and thats why this unelected Prime Minister should call an election now.
Hes waited ten years to become Prime Minister so of course hell launch a blizzard of initiatives. But given hes the master of raising taxes by stealth, buried in the small print of his Budgets, get ready for more spin.
What Brown should focus on
Gordon Brown should:
· Stop the NHS cuts caused by his top-down targets.
· Fix the pensions crisis created by his £100 billion pensions tax.
· Scrap the costly ID cards scheme.
· Introduce more setting and streaming in our schools, which Labour have been promising for the past ten years but failed to deliver.
· Tackle rising violent crime and overcrowded prisons.
· Hold an inquiry into
· Call a referendum on the EU Constitution.
· Take action to reduce carbon emissions through an independent body and rolling year on year targets.
· Scrap pointless regional assemblies.
