Swindon Parlimentary Candidates: Thoughts on Brown
New Prime Minister Gordon Brown's pledge to achieve "Change" has been described as "more smoke and mirrors" by Swindon's Conservative Parliamentary Candidates.
"Gordon Brown would have us believe that he will bring a fresh approach to government. His record as the tax-hiking, all-controlling Chancellor cannot be brushed under the carpet. People remember him for damaging our pensions, making the tax system too complicated and for failing to make the necessary drive towards more efficiency in our public services. There is nothing "new" about this new Prime Minister." said Robert Buckland, South Swindon's Parliamentary Candidate.
"Gordon Brown's claims to represent change beggar belief. Is he telling us that the last ten years for which he was jointly responsible have been one big mistake? Or is he trying to fool the British people into believing that his approach will be different? The only way to achieve real change is to vote Conservative at the next General Election, which should be called immediately." said North Swindon's Parliamentary Candidate, Justin Tomlinson.
