04/04/07 - Conservative Candidates Confirmed For The Local Elections

Swindon Conservatives are proud to be listing a full slate of candidates for the local elections on Thursday 3rd May.

In Swindon, the Council is elected in 1/3's - therefore one of the three sitting Councillors in each ward are up for election.  There are no elections in the Blunsdon (North) or Ridgeway (South) wards this year.

In Stratton St. Margaret ward, Cllr Chris Van Roon who was due for re-election is unable to stand due to poor health, but hopes to return next year.

In St. Philip ward Cllr Debbie Baylies who was due for re-election is also unable to stand due to her change in career.

In Haydon Wick ward there are 2 seats up for election, due to the early retirement of Cllr Wayne Lawley.  Residents in the Haydon Wick ward will have 2 votes.
