23/08/06 - Swindon Conservatives Support Moves To Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour

Swindon Conservatives on Swindon Council have voted through new moves to tackle anti-social behaviour on Council Housing estates and other areas within Swindon.

No endless Government waffle, we are only interested in actually getting something done for the benefit of local residents.

Improvements will include:

  • 2 x Anti-Social Behaviour Officers
  • 2 x Treasury Sustainment Officers To Support Victims
  • Tightening Up Legal Action Against Perpetrators
  • Improve Response Times To Complaints / Issues

Cllr Steve Wakefield, Toothill & Westlea, “This is a really far reaching decision for Swindon Council – we are one of the leading Councils in taking this issue seriously.  This is excellent news for tenants in Council homes, who have been blighted by anti-social behaviour.”

Cllr Justin Tomlinson, North Swindon Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, “The Conservative Council has taken a lead on tackling anti-social behaviour.  Everything must be done to make our local estates free of anti-social behaviour.”
