27/04/06 - Local Residents Turn Against Desperate Labour

Local residents are furious at the endless supply of negative, nasty leaflets from the Labour candidates in the local elections.

In many of the leaflets there has been nothing than negative, personal attacks.

Cllr Justin Tomlinson, "If after 8 years of Government, Labour has nothing positive to offer, why should residents vote for them?  It is no wonder four Labour Councillors have resigned, with two joinging the Conservatives."

"Throughout the campaign the Conservatives have set out a positive agenda for building a better Swindon and have made no reference to any Labour Councillors.  We are proud of our record in control of Swindon Council, we are happy to be judged on this, if only Labour would drag themselves out of the gutter."
