Tony Blair has launched Labour's latest plans to crack down anti-social behaviour, his ninth such promise to get something done, so I won't hold my breath!
I am though delighted that Tony's visit to Swindon allowed him to see first hand, real action. Tony with camera's clicking used the Swindon Services graffiti removal machine. This has made a real difference to clearing up graffiti across Swindon, which I as Lead Member for Swindon Services launched.
Local residents had long complained that under the Labour Council you would have to pay upto £65 to remove graffiti from your home, so I took £40k from the Council's IT budget and spent it on this excellent service.
Anytime Tony Blair would like to see further examples of Conservative action, I am sure we would be delighted to talk about the Council improvements in the CPA assessment, Education, Social Services, the end of Labour's Council Tax hikes. Here in Swindon we just like to get on with the job!
